It’s Christmas time and that means office parties. There’s all the excitement of what you’re going to wear, the chance to let your hair down and have some fun. Maybe there’ll be cocktails or champagne. You’re going to dance ‘til your feet are sore – don’t forget to pop those flip flops in your bag – and laugh ‘til your sides ache.
But what about the morning after? That might not be so much fun. The last thing you want is a sore head, a queasy stomach. You want to wake up fresh as a daisy.
Obviously the best way to avoid a hangover is to forego those cocktails, say no to that champagne or that cheeky little extra beer. But it’s Christmas, hey, and you’re in the spirit of things so let’s get real.
And let’s get prepared. There are loads of products out there that claim to cure a hangover, but wouldn’t you rather avoid one altogether instead of lying in bed next morning, your head pounding as you google hangover pills? So let’s talk hangover prevention.
Before you go out, make sure you’ve put some water by your bed ready to hydrate through the night – and don’t forget to drink water in between each alcoholic drink. Line your stomach – don’t drink on an empty one. Even mixers like coke or tonic water can help with that. Sip slowly – you’ve got all night to drink so take it easy and pace yourself. Maybe choose light coloured drinks – they’re kinder to you.
And an hour before you start drinking, take your LVDY to get that glutathione NAC boost – you and your liver will be so glad you did.
Happy morning after!
